Hope it's OK to post in this part of the forum...
I'm a beginner looking for another beginner male to take lessons with me. I would love to start after the New Year when the next set of classes begin.
I'm 35, 5'9" and 138lbs. Would like someone who would suit my height/weight.
Any input or advice from dance veterans or other newbies is much welcome.
Many thanks!

Usually people switch partners in class so everyone gets a chance to dance with everyone else. It's a great way to get good fast and who wouldn't want to meet a room full of fun and friendly people!

Yup, Jenna, a lot of people sign up for swing classes as alone. Even if you do sign up with a partner you will be rotating so you will dance with every guy in the class. If your looking for someone to practice with one-on-one outside of class I would say your best bet is to meet someone in your first class.

Hi Jenna,
Like Chris and Tina have said, you don't need a partner to take classes with Red Hot Swing. My recommendation would be to come out to Nothin' But Swing on a Saturday night or our Swing 1 class on November 4th and give it a shot. You'll meet some fun people, and it's kind of like a 'try before you buy' scenario if you're trying to find a partner. -sav |

| Thank you so much, everyone! I'm so, so keen to come dance and have wanted to come for over a year now. Your warm replies make it less...intimidating.
I need to build some serious dance confidence.
Missed the Nov. 4 start of the sessions; would coming on a Saturday still be a good idea?
What to wear? |

| I started out over 2 years ago by going to the weekly dance lesson and social dance. I made TONS of friends there and met the man I am marrying. It is casual or dress up. However you are comfortable. Jeans a a t-short or a dress... |

Jenna, it's actually a great idea to come out tonight if you can make it! If you do the drop-in lesson tonight, you'd be able to pop into the second lesson of Swing 1 this Wednesday. -Kevin |
