New session of classes for June & July! |

I apologize for the extremely late notice about this session of classes - the studio where we run our classes is undergoing change of ownership. It's been a little confusing. ;)
Here's the lineup for the usual suspects: Swing 1 is on Thursdays from 8pm to 9:30pm. Starts June 12th, ends July 17th. Swing 2 is on Thursdays from 6:30pm to 8pm. Starts June 12th, ends July 17th.
A new addition to that roster is a three-week Shag mini-series! We taught it last summer and the clamour for a repeat in the past twelve months has not gone unnoticed. Mondays from 7pm to 8:30pm. Starts June 16th, ends June 30th.
You can hook yourselves up with a class by clicking on this finely crafted link. -sav

We have a new session of classes starting on April 27th & May 1st. They'll run for 6 weeks until June 1st & 5th respectively.
As usual, you don't need a partner or any experience to join our beginner lesson in Swing 1. If you've got a bit more experience under your belt, then you'll be able to pop right into Swing 2 fairly easily. Swing 4 is tougher. :)
Swing 1 begins on Sunday April 27th from 6pm to 7:25pm. Swing 2 begins on Thursday May 1st from 8pm to 9:30pm. Swing 4 begins on Sunday April 27th from 7:35pm to 9pm.

From The Ground Up Lindy Hop weekend workshop with Chris & Darla
This
is the first time we've had a full-on two day workshop in Victoria in a
loooong time, so we've made sure it's going to be an awesome one! Chris
Chapman and Darla Weideman are top-notch dancers and teachers that will
knock your socks off and make you enjoy every minute of it. They are
well known for their impressive creativity, versatility, and general
mad skillz.
I've fielded a lot of questions over the weeks since we announced this workshop, and I'm happy to pass on those answers here!
Question: What will I learn? Answer:
A lot of very fun stuff. Lindy Hop fundamentals including connection,
musicality, footwork variations, cool moves, how to dance lindy fast,
20's charleston, slow drag, peabody, and more, all set within a
historical context to give you more insight to the evolution of the
dance.
Question: When and where is it? Answer: Saturday
February 23rd and Sunday February 24th, with ten hours of classes over
both days. Everything will take place at the Victoria Arts Connection studio at 2750 Quadra. Classes will start at 2:30pm on Saturday and 1pm on Sunday.
Question: Will I get lunch and drinks at half-time on both days and is it included in the price? Answer: Yes, of course! They'll even be different on each day.
Question: Will I get to dance on the Saturday night? Answer: Yup. (It starts at 9:30pm at Victoria Arts Connection.)
Question: How much does it cost? Answer: $130 for members,
$140 for non-members. There's even a $10 early bird discount if you
get your payment in by Saturday February 16th. That price includes the
workshop, lunch and drinks on both days, and the dance on Saturday
night.
Question: How do I sign up? Answer: Easy! Go to our class sign-up page: http://www.redhotswing.com/sign-up-for-classes.html (You can also call us at 250 885-4639.)
Question: What if I've got more questions? Answer: Just pop into the thread in our forums about this workshop.
Question: What's the average land speed of a swallow? Answer: I plead the fifth. -sav
